Stuff gets done

I'm a bit late starting this blog, having been walking Sally and Elanor round the marina. They got here just after three o'clock, Elanor having had the usual fun getting ready to come away for the weekend with the enthusiastic "assistance" of the animals.

Before then, we'd been kept well occupied doing some spring cleaning of both the Mac Mini and the desk it sits on. After the regular morning chores were out of the way I dismantled the Mini and reassembled it on the dinette table. This involved taking the screen down off its wall bracket and working with it flat on the table – very strange.

Naturally, the desk top looked very scruffy with all the bits and bobs removed, so Sheila set to with dusters and Pledge to clean it all up. At one point cream cleaner got involved; leaving a specs case lying on the back of the desk until its hinge rusted may not have been a sensible thing to do, I'm told.

With the Mini in range of the WiFi mast, the software update went very smoothly. We had a minor problem with the Little Snitch utility afterwards; I won't bore you all with the details, which have to do with a change in the architecture of the Mac OS native web browser, Safari. A bit of googling found a fix for it, I'm pleased to say.

After lunch we pottered about a bit and read the paper until our guests arrived. Tomorrow, a trip to the Butcher, the Baker and the Ice Cream Maker is indicated for the purpose of stocking up with enough meat to see us through the weekend.

I'll see if Sally can be persuaded to blog at some point; in the meantime she says Hi to Ty on Indigo Dream!

I'll end by wishing good luck and fun cruising to former colleague and dedicated blog reader Heledd; she and her family are setting out to do some canal cruising of their own today. I hope the cold weather doesn't put you off…

Thank you Bruce and Sheila! We've just returned from a cold but thankfully dry 3 days cruise on the Mon and Brec. We had a lovely time and my youngest Efa -6 said it was the best holiday ever! We were impressed by the friendliness of everyone we passed en route and we even managed to come back with the same number of children that we went with! Only problem is we're still rocking from side to side every time we stand up! Best wishes
Heledd and family.

Hi

That's very good to hear, glad you enjoyed it! If you can cope with what we've had this weekend, you can handle pretty well anything. Cold and wind are much tougher than rain, I reckon.

All the best

Bruce
