It hasn't been total laziness, mind, as another gap in the rain was utilised to rinse down the port cabin side. It may seem barmy even by our standards to wash the boat on a day like this, but it's the case that plain rain doesn't properly clean off the dust and muck chucked up onto the boat from a dry towpath in the hot weather (remember that?).
It also filled in the time between coffee and lunch very nicely and gave us some sense of justification for the huge pasties.
Talking of barminess, is anything more quintessentially English than the Shed of the Year competition? It's sponsored by Cuprinol, of course. The individual category winners have been chosen and the overall winner gets announced during Shed Week which starts on 1 July. I particularly liked the winner in the Normal Sheds category:
