Unsettled weather

… is the word for it. We've had the lot in the last 24 hours with the exception of snow.

(Shut up, Bruce, just shut it!)

Last night we had some spectacular thunderstorms and a mix of clear spells, rain and wind overnight. This has carried on into today, at times making for appalling boating conditions. We managed to get into the village and back this morning without getting soaked; this afternoon we took a walk first to the mill stream to feed the ducks and then on to the river lock to watch what's going on.

Despite the meteorological challenges, there's a fair amount of traffic about.

We also bought our mid-month Kindle books this morning – I'm experimenting with Fred Vargas, an author I've not tried before, whilst Sheila has stuck with a Ngaio Marsh, Black as He's Painted. It's one we've read before but no longer have in hard copy.

I also updated the Ocado order I've got booked for delivery on Monday morning at the marina. It's another restocking job on the assumption that we get away for the rest of the summer after all our appointments are done with.

We had a good lie-in this morning, but will be up and about in good time tomorrow to make the most of the dry weather forecast for the morning. I do hope that this wind goes away as it's supposed to…
