Damp working

After an amazingly wet night, we’ve not been able to do much gardening today. It was, however, a good chance to get the port side of the boat washed since it was already well damp.

That took us up to lunchtime; after a bit of a post-prandial doze, we got outside and did some sorting out which didn’t involve actually weeding or otherwise working with soggy foliage.

A lot of bags full of redundant vegetation were moved to the end of the drive ready to be taken to the tip and a load of pots and troughs cleared away into the wood shed. This just filled an hour nicely, after which we retreated inside once more.

I’ve checked out the new screen’s performance with moving images by watching another episode of Blakes 7; I’ll get to the end of that box set one day, having had it for just two years now.

Whilst shopping first thing, I found that the local butcher had a good looking line in garlic chicken Kievs, so that’s tonight’s dinner sorted too.

Tomorrow, we’ll get some proper gardening done, hopefully, and then we’re going to the Boar’s Head for Sunday lunch again, this time with Janet and Roger off Shiraz as well as Stephen and Jayne from Dolce Far Niente.
