This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Busy but tiring day in Derby
I’m swaying in the breeze a bit here, so pardon if this post is a bit incoherent. We’ve had a good trip to Derby, during which I upgraded my 3 contract to one with unlimited data, as well as a much better smart phone, the Acer Liquid E2. Only thing is, I’m now having to get to grips with a brand new phone as well as everything else.
We’ll be giving up the 3 MiFi contract altogether and probably the T-mobile one as well, though it would be sensible to do something like change that to a PAYG deal so that we still have an alternate provider when we’re out cruising. The T-mobile signal here in the marina is much weaker than it was last winter, as I think I’ve said before. The main problem so far is that the 3 signal isn’t that great here on this pontoon either; it’s about wandering round the boat to find the best place to get the signal. Once that's done, the phone is able to work as a WiFi hotspot for up to 8 clients at a time, which is even better than the Huawei mobile wifi modems.
As well as all that, I posted off the PlaqueOff tub I’d sold on eBay for Elanor and we looked at measuring cups and spoons in Lakeland, though didn’t find any we liked. We actually walked out of Lakeland without buying anything.
Oh, and we had an excellent lunch at a new stall in the Westfield Centre food court. It’s a Greek Grill where we had beefteki (a kind of beef kebab in a pitta with salad and tzatziki) with fries and a drink each for just £4 apiece. They were very tasty; it really is remarkable the range of different foods you can get there now.
I’ve also made a appointment for a further hearing test at Boots with the thought that I might well benefit from a decent hearing aid now we know there’s nothing sinister going on inside my head.
(Apart from channelling a Doberman cross bitch, of course.)
/wahaha
Heigh ho, I think that’s all for now; talking of Sally, she’s coming for the day tomorrow, so that might mean another of her blogs, depending on her mood.

Hi Bruce, just for your info Deb went for another hearing test at boots not so long ago and they were very thorough. However five weeks later she has two digital hearing aids provided by the NHS, they are nine channel ones that were equivalent to the boots ones that were about £2200 a pair!
