This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Getting through a wet Sunday
Sheila did the WeBS walk in the wind and rain again, the second time in the two months we’ve been back in the marina. It didn’t take long, though a widgeon was spotted and waxwing have been reported from Stafford, so we live in hope of another invasion of these lovely birds this year.
She also caught up with some gossip from Jo James and called in at the office to discover that we have our first booking for the lodge, for three weeks from the 26th of this month.
It’s going to be a bit of a scramble to get it all done in time.
I confined myself to preparing a document on winterisation of boats with the intention of putting it up on the Braidbar Owners site, only to discover that Yahoo are even less organised than before; I couldn’t get onto the site at all and am having to send it out to members of the group by individual email.
It’s all the more frustrating as it’s mainly been written by Graham of Priscilla II and has been waiting for me to get it sorted for a while.
Having done that and collected the paper from the shop I was wondering what to do next when Sheila got back. More work with lodge related stuff took place, mainly Sheila sorting things to go in the ring binder which we’ll put in the lodge for the benefit of the tenants, after which we had lunch.
Afterwards we braved the weather to walk round the marina and call in at the lodge to do some washing up of culinary bits and pieces. Back at the boat we’ve been relaxing since; the Squirrel’s earning its keep again, maintaining a toasty temperature in here.
Tomorrow, the pots and pans should arrive...
