This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

A recovery day
First the good news: the Independent arrived as usual today, what a relief…
:)
Not so good: last night’s quiz was a toughie. The winning team scored 39/60 and we only managed 27.
:(
Good news, though: we had a great time anyway, with lots of laughs in good company.
:))
That’s about enough of that, I can’t keep it up any longer (quiet at the back and see me later). Having had a good time with probably unsuitable too salty food, we had a bit of a broken night so indulged in a good lie-in and were still breakfasting well after nine. Elanor happened to ring and was quite shocked.
No matter, having got going we walked into the village for some supplies, followed by a relaxed lunch. We’ve nearly finished the turkey I cooked at the weekend; it will be the base for a risotto tonight that should see it off, I reckon.
Sheila had a routine appointment at the surgery afterwards, leaving me to read and surf the web for a while. When she returned we both took a last walk round the marina in bright but very chilly sun. Work is now well underway on the Boardwalk development on the peninsula; I’ll try to get some photos to put up here – it's just out of site of the web cam on the marina website.
We’ll have a quiet night in tonight, I reckon and another fairly laid back day tomorrow. The Lincoln mob are visiting on Saturday lunchtime, so we’ll need to recharge the batteries for that…
