This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Quiet Monday
We’ve had a more leisurely day today, catching up with emails and the like. We’d planned to head for the village this morning, but the forecast made it clear that this afternoon would be a better bet. Fortunately we had just about enough bread for lunch, though getting short of other perishables like cucumber and tomatoes.
Sheila’s been running the Monday washloads whilst we started some online Christmas shopping. In addition, I’ve volunteered to beta test CRT’s migration of the email stoppage notice system to their website from the old Waterscape one; so far I’ve not been able to set it up properly. Parts of the trial website work fine, such as the mapping, but other bits keep throwing error screens. It looks as if the mobile connections are getting in the way of some of the interchanges.
After lunch things had dried up a bit, so we walked into Willington, noting on the way that we’ve acquired marina bus stops outside the back entrance, very handy. We went to the newly opened combined surgery and pharmacy building; it looks very smart and the move seems to have gone off without too much trouble.
I got a prescription filled and Sheila was able to sort some stuff out with the surgery.
On the way back we called in at the Co-op for the aforementioned perishables and have settled back into the boat just as it has started to drizzle again.
I’m told by Elanor that Sally seems to be back to normal, so I’ll see if she can be persuaded to do a blog tomorrow when she visits.
