This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Good weekend, quiet Monday
What a good weekend that was; sorry to be predictable and to miss out on blogging two days in a row, but things were quite busy.
The weather stayed fine, the boys were on their best behaviour almost all of the time and everyone turned up when they were expected. Sally was a bit disgruntled only to get a run in the field and not join in the merry throng on the boat, but it really wouldn’t have been a good idea, not least because poor Elanor has succumbed to a bug doing the rounds at her work and didn’t want to spread it around.
We’ve finally caught up with Christmas present exchanges; this idea of spreading them out works well, especially for the boys, who are able to appreciate the later arrivals all the more for them not being swamped.
Graeme and Cathy are both looking well, and it was very good to meet up with Jan’s sister Jennie again after much too long a gap.
We didn’t get anything like enough sleep, of course, so today has been about a leisurely start and pottering about doing the routine Monday stuff; Sheila’s been running the washing machine all day.
It’s turned really cold, though it’ll be a bit milder midweek again, so still no real wintry stuff, just a couple of frosty mornings, very welcome. It emphasises the way the days are starting to lengthen, too.
The other Peter and Janet, crew of the other Sanity, were about this afternoon and we had a bit of a natter with them; they are both dedicated blog readers. Hope you’re enjoying those crunchy nut cornflakes, Janet!
