To Derby in the snow(ish)

We actually saw some snow today, the first this winter that I can think of. It was still pretty unimpressive, more like sleet with attitude, though it made waiting for the bus a bit of a trial.

That said, we’re getting this business of quick trips to Derby down to a fine art; 10.25 bus in, arriving 10.55, Boots to collect new specs, go to bank, buy pasties for lunch at home, Sainsbury's for bread and salad pots, WHSmith for new puzzle book for Sheila, back at the bus station before 11.45 for the 12 noon bus.

My new glasses are a good fit and didn’t take much getting used to for a change. We’ve had a quiet afternoon in the boat, sheltering from the weather again.

So, not a lot more to report really; we’re starting to feel a touch of cabin fever and looking forward to getting through February with the prospect of boating off out of it in March.

Oh, should have mentioned; we did much better in the quiz last night, though the music round was a bit hard work. We didn’t actually win, but got 74½ out of a possible 90. The winners scored 78, so we weren’t ashamed of ourselves. The next one won’t be until late March, so we’ll probably miss that.

Now, let’s hope the rain holds off for a bit tomorrow morning for the Ocado delivery…
