A breezy, pottery Saturday

Things were a bit better today weatherwise; we’ve actually managed to get out for a couple of perambulations around the marina, though the wind is now blowing something fierce again. I’ve a couple of bags of fuel due to be delivered this afternoon, but since I put the last of what we had on the fire first thing, we nipped into Midland Chandlers and bought a pack of Ecofire compressed wood briquettes to keep us going.

They are good for getting a lot of heat quickly, but you don’t want to rely on them for lots of slow burning in my experience.

Apart from that, we’ve had a quite relaxed day; Sheila gave me a hand to check the batteries (no top up needed) and to change the bilge nappies (both quite soaked with condensation despite the dehumidifier).

The steel frame of the Boardwalk development continues to grow; I’ll try and get some photos to put up tomorrow; we forgot to take the camera out with us today.

Tomorrow, Elanor’s popping in with some post. Walking conditions off road are still pretty discouraging, so I don’t know if we’ll be able to give Sally a run.
