Bustling Saturday at Mercia

Sheila chose to sleep on the dinette last night, partly because that way she didn't have to fight Sally for bed space in the middle of the night and partly because of her cold. It turned out as well that she did, as the cold gave her a seriously bad night but at least she could snuffle, cough and blow without worrying about disturbing me (or the dog, of course).

She's quite a bit better this afternoon so we're hopeful that the worst will be over by Monday when we still plan to boat off.

Meantime, Sally has been walked twice, once round the marina by me and once to the exercise field by Elanor and me after E had made it over to us. Elanor still looked a bit weary after lunch but I reassured her that that at least meant that our dog sitting had been worthwhile.

Despite her cold, Sheila has started a laundryfest that will carry on tomorrow, doing the washing that would normally have waited until Monday. This way, we'll leave the marina with all the stuff clean. In similar vein, I washed the last mooring line.

Sheila is now sitting out on the bow crocheting in the sporadic sun. We've had two bookings for the lodge come in this afternoon; one immediate in the shape of a pair of fellow liveaboards of whom the female half has just had the misfortune to break her ankle, so they'd like easier accommodation than the boat for at least a few days and possibly a couple of weeks.

The other is an actual holiday let in August, a returning customer trying our lodge as a change from the others.

A quiet evening tonight, methinks, after all this activity, then busy again tomorrow. We just hope the forecast rain is not as bad as threatened; it's really very pleasant in the spring sunshine, despite the blustery wind.
