A domestic day

With a blank day in the schedule, it's been a good opportunity to catch up on the chores. Sheila doesn't plan to run a washload until we get back to the marina, but still put in a bit of time setting one up in the machine.

Since I've paid for the electronic Indy until the end of the month, I had another go at downloading the app yesterday, and this time it's working. So we didn't need to go shopping and I was able to use the time catching up with emails. I also made up a ciabatta kit to provide bread for lunch.

The filing drawer was getting very full, so we had a session clearing out some old financial documents and then tearing names and addresses off them. This gave us a load of recycling to take to the skips in the CRT yard at the junction.

We ambled back from there, stopping to chat to a nice guy on Linton Lass; he told us that they will be mooring on Veery pontoon in Mercia this winter.

I'm pleased to say that the ciabatta rolls turned out particularly scrummy, so lunch was a very pleasant affair. Afterwards, I got on with updating the Braidbar Owners' Group Pub Guide whilst Sheila did the washing up. We had to run the engine today; a combination of dull weather and an overshaded mooring meant that the solar panel wasn't keeping up with our power usage, especially with the big computer screen on.

Finally, we turned to and swept the boat. Sheila had already brushed the mats, so it didn't take too long. She's doing the gardening as I'm typing this; deadheading the surfinias and giving everything a drink of water.

Tomorrow, we'll top up the water tank before pottering down to Alrewas for a couple of nights and a visit to the dentist.
