It's a bit hot

Today has been quite hot by UK standards; we've been drinking squash, not tea and coffee all day...

Elanor and Sally made it across to us by half nine; Elanor is able to walk slowly, well more of a hobble, really, but is having much less pain unless she tries to move her foot in a particular direction. She's using an ankle brace that she has for riding which seems to be giving her the support she needs.

It's just going to be a matter of time before it's healed. It was already too hot to run Sal in the field, so I took her to the copse for some romping. Although clearly confused by the absence of her Mum, she was on her best behaviour and had a right royal rummage and general sniffing around. It should keep her going until tomorrow, when we'll repeat the exercise.

Back at the boat we all sat around in the well deck and sweltered a bit. Sal loves it like this, constantly moving about to keep an eye on everything that's going on. This included a minor bit of drama when one of the two chaps cleaning Tigeroceros stepped back a bit far and fell in. It's the second time we've had to use a rescue ladder. These are positioned by each fire extinguisher and make all the difference to getting someone out.

We've had a moderately lazy afternoon, with Sheila doing some emails about the Owners' Weekend and yours truly pottering about. We did manage a walk round the marina with the aid of an ice cream at the shop.

It looks as if it's going to be even hotter tomorrow...
