Quiet Monday

After the fun of the weekend, we've had quite a quiet day here today. The weather is slowly deteriorating, I fear; it was very pleasant indeed early on, but the wind grows stronger and the sky is starting to cloud over.

The washing machine has been kept busy and we've had a couple of split walks round the marina, doing a bit of shopping on each occasion. The rest of the time has been given over to reading a variety of things and keeping up with emails and our regular haunts on the web. These include a few blogs, the BBC News website and Canal World.

Tonight, I plan to serve egg fried rice, it being meat-free Monday. Tomorrow, we'll be spending the afternoon, or at least the early part of it, in the Orthopod Out Patients, courtesy of Jo's excellent taxi service. Hopefully, this will lead to Sheila being allowed to transfer back into normal footwear – assuming the X-rays look OK.

Obviously, I can't be sure when we'll get back, but I'll try and do at least a brief blog with whatever news we have.

Hmph! Well, you'd better be back before blog time ... I have other calls to make, people to see, Boaters' Forum to attend. :) (I knew Blogger wouldn't do smilies!)
