And again, Middlewich

It's been a good day, though I've not much to report of a boating nature. We did another trip to Lidl, noting that the approach through the playground is more trolley friendly, having no steps at all.

Back at the boat, we decided to move immediately as there was a space by the playground and we wanted to run the engine for a while to pop some charge in the batteries and to get a tank of hot water. That didn't take long, though we had to juggle the position of the boat a bit to avoid a shallow part of the mooring.

The rest of the morning was spent pottering and doing a little GDPR stuff online – it's a good signal here on both 3 and Vodafone. At ten past twelve, we walked up to the Kings Lock, arriving just at the same time as Peter and Jan.

It was fine enough to sit outside by the lock where we consumed a good lunch at a reasonable price and a couple of drinks apiece. Then we retreated to the boat, leaving the car near the Big Lock. Our guests went off mid-afternoon and we've been loafing again, mostly, though Sheila has finished yet another porthole doily – just two to do and she will have replaced all 15 of them.

Tomorrow, on to Anderton.
