Who says weather forecasts get it wrong? Today has indeed been full of wind, but with little rain. In addition to our regular walk this morning, I had another little stroll this afternoon, just to get out of the boat for a bit and stretch my legs.
They were having a wedding at Shugborough Hall, three white limos outside the front door, and a mega marquee on the lawn. I bet a lot of fancy hats were at risk in the blustery wind. (Quick edit, no it wasn't; having just looked up the website, it was a bridal fayre.)
Other than that, a pretty domestic day. Sheila made some bread rolls for lunch, and I cleaned the loo. The rest of the time was filled with reading and routine chores.
After I post this, Sheila is going to cut my hair, just before I shower.
OK, so it's not exciting all the time, but that's the point, really.

Perhaps its best not to blog at all when its not interesting?
I disagree, I think it is a really useful insight into the life of a CC. There will be more than a few who want to live aboard but have a waterworld view of it. Bruce's blog is a warts and all view of living on a narrowboat

I agree with Nev. It's refreshing to read about quieter days as well as the more active days- I certainly enjoy both and am glad that it's a representative account. In fact I probably enjoy reading about the quieter days more!

I'm sorry if the keenly looked forward to post is a bit dull at times, but Nev is right, I try to give a warts and all picture of life aboard.
Being in the marina doesn't help in that respect. I might make this the subject of tonight's effort if nothing more interesting occurs to me.

Hi Bruce, we love reading your blogs. We intend to live on a boat when Steve retires, he is so keen and we have a lok around some local marinas most weekends, in fact I think John at Sawley gets sick of seeing us both.
Anyway, we thought the wind would put a lot of boaters sailing so we stayed at home this week and watched some dvds on narrowboats

I think you should blog whenever you fancy (I do!). After all, your followers don't have to read if they don't want to!
Anyway, what's dull to readers may be of great interest to you when you look back at your boating life. Our blog certainly acts in lieu of my memory!
