Fall over on the melting ice, and you certainly will be thaw...

Slight lack of stuff to write about today, as we've been lurking in the boat, mostly. I updated the Ocado order, and checked the bilges for damp. This was largely reassuring, except that the stern bilge, the one under the stern gland, was wet, my plastic box positioned under the gland to catch the drips having fallen over.
Apart from that, the various disposable nappies were a bit damp from condensation, but no sign of blue staining from leaking coolant, so I'm allowing myself to hope that I've got on top of that. The real test will be the run up to Poynton when we leave here in a couple of weeks, but meantime it's fingers crossed.
The snow is rapidly going, and the ice on the water is beginning to thin, though the attempt by the one occupied hire boat to break out was doomed to failure. It'll take a few days yet, I expect, even though no further freezing temperatures are forecast.
For the rest of the time, we've been reading the paper (me) and crocheting (Sheila). Having finished two orders, another one's come in, so off she goes again. I also had an email request for an ePub version of Building Sanity Again, after the review in Canal Boat, which was very pleasing.
Tomorrow, there's an Ocado order to come, and we'll need to pop into the village to get a postal bag to despatch the newly finished crochet.

Sheila,
I've just looked at your patterns on flikr. They're beautiful and as a crocheter myself I know they must take ages. I hope you get lots of commissions but I must say I think you're FAR too cheap for the intricacy of the work.

Thank you for your kind words. It is nice to be appreciated.
In commercial terms you are quite right that my prices are too low. But if I set price based on the minimum wage for the time I work then I would not sell any. Crochet is my hobby not my business and there is a limit to the number of doilies I can use on our boat so I set a price that people will pay. That way I hope that everyone is happy.

Hi Yvonne
The penny's just dropped here as to which Yvonne!
Hope you're both keeping well in this weather - I'm just off to check out your blog…
Cheers
