More stuff around the yard in the sun

We've had another excellent day, helping to shuffle boats and the like at Braidbar, and watching whilst the bits and pieces being done to Sanity Again near completion. First off, Eleventh Heaven needed bringing into the yard, so Sanity Again had to come out, Eleventh Heaven was brought in, backwards, from where she'd been sitting on the hire boat mooring, then Sanity Again was run back in down the centre of the boats in the yard.

Then we went and fetched Tiree, the new hire boat, from where she's been sitting on Eleventh Heaven's mooring over on Victoria Pit, and put her back on her own mooring. On a roasting hot day, we lit Tiree's Portman stove to make sure it was working OK, which it was.

Having done that, Sheila went onto Bunnies Warren to fetch the bedding we'd been sleeping in, to wash it in the washing machine in the bungalow. She also gave the worktops and mirrors a final polish so that Sharon will recognise her boat when she arrives at Easter.

Meanwhile, Peter was fixing the auto top up system to the battery bank on Sanity Again. Once he'd done that, the new woodwork had another coat of varnish, the second of three.

After lunch, Peter did some work to fix a problem with the remote switch display on the Hurricane heater, and I pottered about emptying water out of the stern bilge.

Apart from that, we've been able to relax in the sun; Sheila's carried on with yet another crochet doily, and I've been reading a paper kindly bought for me by Kate and Dave off Bosley whilst they were in Stockport.

/bye

Interested to see your con man on S&W.

Agree with you he is extremely plausible. We met him last year, - he passed us about three times looking more and more agitated, and suckered me out of a tenner.

Charley: sorry you got caught too!

Sue: compulsory + pay = work, voluntary + done for love = hobby.

Hobbies are important for the elderly.
