Another active Sunday

We had another excellent but very different party last night, one provided by the marina for those of us who've been active in the volunteers group. It was a pizza, wine and beer evening, with lots of chances to chat to folk we'd not met before.

Once again, thanks to the organisers, in this case Jules, Jo and Glyn, and to the marina management for footing the bill.

This morning, Sheila took part in a walk round the marina doing a count of the waterbirds. In the event, there weren't a lot of them about, seemingly, possibly because as a result of the ice they've mostly moved to the river for the time being.

However, a flock of waxwings has moved in and Sheila was able to get some photos of them. She took some more when Elanor and Sally came across for another bout of field exercises:

I've not been idle either; whilst Sheila was out I did some routine cleaning of the boat and fixed our Christmas cards to the wall with Blu-Tak, thus getting them up off the shelves.

Elanor's staying for dinner, which is nice; after I've done this, I'm going to give my beard its Christmas trim before someone starts mistaking me for Santa Claus...
