Cold but quite busy

Poor Sheila woke with a savage head cold this morning, and so has been keeping to the boat as far as possible today, only venturing out to take some washing to the laundry to tumble it. Thus it fell to me to make the trip to the village for bread and stuff on my own.

The weather has turned seriously cold once more, though we've not seen any of the snow that's bothering other parts of the country. I printed up some ads for Elanor's bike, using photos she provided, and popped them into the three laundry rooms. If we haven't had any interest by the weekend, I'll put it up on eBay. Since it comes with quite a lot of extras (panniers, headlight, decent bike lock, cover) I've put the asking price up to £60 ono.

Here's one of the pictures in case anyone's interested:

This afternoon, we did a good chunk of Christmas shopping on line, which makes one less thing to worry about. All we have to do now is create the family calendar and Christmas cards, so we're reasonably on track with our preparations.

It's likely to get a bit milder and wetter after tomorrow, though I suspect we'll se some more ice on the water in the morning.

Finally: anyone who knows George's handy meat and pie stall by Audlem bottom lock might want to sign an online petition to support him in his dispute with CRT; a fuss about him putting too many shed extensions up seems to have got out of hand, which is a real shame.
