Dismal Sunday

After several very pleasant Sundays in a row, today has been pretty grotty, with a biting cold wind blowing sleety showers across the marina. We're still not sleeping well as a result of our colds, so we've been pretty quiet. We did manage a walk round the place after lunch, but it wasn't a particularly pleasant experience, just a matter of getting a bit of fresh air and exercise, or we'd have no chance of sleeping tonight.

John from the Still Waters shop delivered our two bags of Signal yesterday, and the two bags of Supertherm today, so we're well stocked to see out the Siberian stuff that's still forecast for next week.

We've had no enquiries about Elanor's bike from around the marina, so I've put it on eBay as planned.

We finished off the Canal Boat Christmas Quiz with some educated guesses at the last few questions, and that's been despatched by email. Apart from that, we've been reading the papers, keeping the fire well stoked and Sheila is working her way through a box of large tissues.

Tonight, roast chicken methinks; it's the time of year for straightforward comfort food, and I need to get in practice for the turkey.
