Busy, busy, chat, chat

Actually, more the other way round, really, but it feels like we've barely had time to draw breath today. After a reasonably relaxed start, Mark delivered our Ocado stuff not long after ten. We checked it out and stowed the chilled things in the fridge before going over to the Willow Tree for coffee with Stephen and Jayne.

This became a pleasantly long drawn out affair, with us catching up on all the goss since before Christmas. The place doesn't show any sign of the fire, but the floor is still not right. It's a bit blotchy and there are signs about sticky glue around the place. Hopefully they'll get it sorted soon, though it hasn't affected the quality of either the food or the service, I'm glad to say.

After lunch, we took ourselves for a walk round the marina whilst Sheila's washload was tumbling. This took a while as we didn't even get the length of the pontoon before stopping for another natter with Lloyd and then Helen…

Back at the boat after a very pleasant stroll, I got on with firstly the day's recipe and then some updates to the Braidbar Owners' Pub Guide, for which I'd had seven new entries earlier in the week. Some Braidbar Owners (OK, one Braidbar Owner) had selflessly given up their (his) Christmas holiday  to researching for the Guide…

Once that was done and uploaded to the Group website, I was able to get on with this post. I've been so busy, I've barely started reading the paper today; there's some email to reply to and the dinner to cook yet.

No matter, I'm sure I'll survive. Tomorrow, Elanor and Sally are coming over to drop off some post and have a run in a dead-cow-free field.
