Things getting better...

… although the Met Office site itself is looking weird today. It seems as if the server that delivers the symbols has fallen over, so that they are missing and the wind speeds are shown as very large sans serif numerals rather than a small numeral in an arrow to show direction.

No matter, it's been sunny for most of the day. I did some slightly overdue engine bay checks; the batteries didn't need topping up and the nappies were doing their job of absorbing any condensation that found its way into the bilges.

I wrote what's nearly the final recipe for my book (jambalaya), and we rendezvoused with Stephen and Jayne in a very busy Willow Tree at half twelve. We only just got a table and had to wait twenty minutes for food. It wasn't a big problem – it's good to see them trading so well.

After lunch we all took a stroll round the marina, checking out where they are preparing another two sites for lodges to go in in April. It was so pleasant walking in the sun and nattering to Stephen and Jayne that we went round again.

Since then we've been loafing in the boat with the bow doors open. Some of the winter moorers are preparing to leave, it being the first of March on Friday.

So all in all, it feels like the start of Spring has been resumed, hurrah.

It can be quite droll when the weather sites are having problems - a couple of times on Metcheck the system has thrown a wobbly and predicted 312mph winds - not so favourable for cruising the tideway :-D
