Dog to dog blog: on the herbal substances

Hi guys

Here I am at the boat again, even though it’s Wednesday; Mum can’t seem to make up her mind about the routine these days, so I just have to go along with whatever she does.

Mind you, the AGPs are a bit zonkerooed today, having been out on the town (well, Willington) last night and entertaining on the boat the night before, and I’m feeling pretty strange myself at the moment.

Drugs, you know.

No, it’s Mum’s fault. She seems to think that my habit of helpfully drawing her attention to explosions outside by barking at them isn’t a good one, so she got some stuff from the vet for me. It’s herbal, so not too strong she says. (I’ll never understand humans; I mean deadly nightshade is herbal too, but don’t try chomping it guys…)

It’s doing some good; whenever an explosion occurs, I throw my head back and do my best Hound of the Baskervilles howl before barking, so she gets some notice of it. Also, I’m feeling a lot braver in general, though a bit easily tired.

Down the fields this afternoon was quite entertaining; the lower field was awash after the rain so I had some brilliant cantering about kicking up great sheets of water, then when we went back to the upper field I had a prowl over the top of the bund that runs down one side. Grandpa tried to get me to come away by walking quickly away himself, but with my newly found courage I went and had a plodge in the sump of dirty water on the other side anyway.

Then I charged up to him, ho, ho.

=))

Finally, as we were heading back towards the road, I found the sad remains of something or other, long dead, not much left except a bit of bone and some skin. I had a quick crunch at it but it wasn’t very nice so traded it to GP for two treats.

Result, eh?

Back here at the boat we’re all being nice and quiet, waiting for Mum to come and collect me.

Actually, it’ll be quite good to have a day in my cave at home tomorrow, I’m really feeling quite dozy…

:D

Take care

Loads of licks

Hey Sally

Good to hear from you - Ty and Ollie don't like the fizz bangs either but they make do with cuddles. Enjoy the hard stuff and hope you don't get too many fireworks where you are....
