This blog is about life on board our narrowboat Sanity Again, cruising the inland waterways of the UK (mainly in the spring, summer and autumn) and living in a marina in the winter. It's the way I choose to write it; if you don't like it, there are many other boating blogs.

Busy Friday in the wet
It’s been an odd sort of day, though generally successful. First up was the Ocado order that arrived right at the end of its delivery slot, but was all correct. The driver had a new recruit with him, which might explain why he was taking a bit longer. They were both very interested in the boat and had a look round before they left.
Meanwhile, headboards for the beds in Walnut had arrived with stuff for the latest lodge to go in, Laburnum. We had forgotten that the beds came with headboards…
I had a conversation with Jules about getting them under cover, then after lunch we went across and met her and new guy on the team Josh. We unpacked the headboards and put them in position, but it wasn’t at all clear how they are supposed to be fixed either to the wall or the beds.
Jules is going to check up with Pinelog about it.
Finally, we walked wetly into the village to post the Samsung Galaxy Europa which had sold on eBay. The PO has got quite paranoid about phones and the counter guy needed reassuring about its state. Note to all, if packing a phone for despatch, take the battery out. Even so, the parcel ended up with a big warning sticker about the fact that it contained a lithium ion battery.
Back at the marina, another parcel had arrived for Sheila; some new boat shoes she’s bought from Chatham Marine. They do do a good service even if a tad expensive; Sheila only ordered them yesterday. Watch out for the sales is the trick here.
Tonight, prawn curry, I think, as it’s Friday. Elanor and Sally are coming over tomorrow which will be fun. I just hope it’s stopped raining by then.
