Great to meet up with old friends

A very good day sometimes doesn't give a lot to blog about, strangely, especially when it's been spent socialising with good friends.

Both Peter and Susan made it down to see us; Peter had been meeting with a shell builder nearby and they got over to us at twelve. We just managed to find a table in the Willow Tree for lunch before going on to have coffee and teas in the lodge accompanied by scrummy cake from the WT for the non-diabetics.

We had a lovely long exchange of gossip about life at Braidbar and similar topics. The sun was out and we could sit outside on the veranda to do it. Later on, whom should we see but Stephen and Jayne arriving back from London.

We all walked over to Dolce where more tea was consumed and Peter had a look at a couple of things that will need attention next time Dolce is at Poynton. There's always something to do on a boat.

We finally left Stephen and Jayne to unpack and finished the circumnavigation of the marina to where Peter and Susan had left their car.

We're looking forward to a quiet evening now; tomorrow afternoon I have a Visual Fields test at the Royal Derby, so may not get a chance to blog until quite late.

A meeting with a nearby shell builder, eh? Interesting!

As you know, Braidbars are usually built on Tim Tyler shells, and that remains the case. But sometimes the customer wants a shell from another builder and Peter is happy to go along with that as long as it's a reputable builder, of course.

But it does involve more meetings with the builder.
