So far, so good

It's been another productive day, all told, starting with our trip to the dentist. All was well there, good scores for gum condition and all that. As usual, the least pleasant bit was having the scale and polish.

Feeling pleased with ourselves, we did a bit of shopping in the Co-op and quite a bit more in the butcher's. It didn't overload the daysacks, though, so we ambled back the long way round to have another mooch at what boats were tied in the village.

Coates' is now selling some nice granary bread that made excellent sarnies for lunch. Later on, to avoid the falling asleep syndrome, we took a second walk along the towpath as far as Wychnor. Incredibly, despite all the dry weather we've been having, we came to a seriously boggy section and turned back.

We had a natter with our fellow Mercia moorers on Sky who were tied next to what was Rebel's field (now totally overgrown) before getting back to Sanity Again in time for a late cup of tea.

The weather is starting to break and is forecast to be very wet tomorrow, so rather than head on to Mercia, we're going to stay here an extra day and boat on Saturday. It just shows how well advised we were to stop above Bagnall on unrestricted mooring.
