Seriously lazy day

My classically bourgeois upbringing means that I feel guilty if I don't spend the day in productive activity. Regular readers will know how successfully I've thrown off this influence by giving free rein to my innate laziness, but now, of course, I have another source of guilt – an idle day leaves me short of material for the blog...

So what have we done today? We paid a visit to the lodge to look at some minor damage to the back of one of the saloon chairs, walked round the marina and dumped the recycling, collected some post, checked out the Boardwalk, which does indeed look nearly ready to go, and came back to the boat for lunch.

After a bit of a zizz, we put the polisher away under the bed and got the dehumidifier out as condensation has begun to show up in the engine room. Then we walked round the marina again, stopping for an ice cream this time.

We've been back on the boat doing the Indy giant GK crossword, getting a lot more in than last week, I'm pleased to say. I just wish I could remember the name of the Trojan who did for Achilles...

Hector, thank you.

Tonight, some of the roast chicken I cooked yesterday will be added to some Cajun sauce piquante I've got in the freezer, another lazy meal, hee hee.

It looks like nasty weather again tomorrow; must think of something productive to do whilst staying inside...

Hi Bruce,
I've thought of a couple of projects that could benefit from your skills, and would be a way to keep you occupied over the winter months... both of which involve Mercia Marina...

1) Offer your IT skills to the Marina and bring their web site up to date, it's getting seriously behind the times, just look at the News tab...

2) On the subject of web sites there is no working site for the Boardwalk, goodness me it opens next weekend and I only know that because YOU told me... the Bistro opens on Monday and can I find any information about it or an idea of it's menu... NOPE!

So there you go, off to the office on Monday with you with your CV. I can't think of anyone more capable!! It'll be of great help to so many people too :)

Hi Bruce and Sheila,
George reckons that it was Hecgtor’s brother Paris who shot Achillies - just looked it up and he’d correct! You need to learn to enjoy your lazy days - we certainly do! xx

Kevin: ta for the vote of confidence, but that sounds suspiciously like w*rk to me, that well known curse of the drinking classes. Also, I've lost touch with website design since I gave up updating the static site at nbsanity.me.uk.

In his design of the BOG site, Des has used MySQL a lot and I just don't know that stuff.

Carol: you are right of course. Hector kills Achilles' mate Patroclus, Achilles revenges him and then Paris kills Achilles via his vulnerable heel.

As it happens, the Trojan I wanted for the crossword was Aeneas, anyway...

Cheers both

Bruce
