A burst of RT

It was raining first thing, which made us wonder if our trip to Derby was a good idea, but by the time we were ready to leave it had stopped. This was just as well, as the 10.25 V3 was 25 minutes late, so that we were stood at the stop for well over half an hour.

Seemingly, there was no particular reason for it, it was just a case of accumulating delays. When we got into Derby, the bus went into the very end bay outside, having been replaced on the route.

The sky was now bright blue but cold with it, so we were glad to get inside the Intu mall. Boots and WH Smith were visited to good purpose, followed by a scurry out to Wilko for a variety of bits and bobs, none of it earth shattering, just things we can't get in Willington or the marina shops.

After lunch in the mall (steak and kidney pie and chips this time), we had a similar go round Sainsbury's and ended up back in the bus station in good time for the one o'clock departure.

It's been a quiet afternoon; Sheila did a bit of crochet and I ripped another two DVDs, having also organised the collection on its shelf so as to do the job systematically.

Elanor and Sal are coming round tonight again and we're planning a quiet day tomorrow, hiding from the wind and rain again if the forecast is accurate.
